Once in the editor, the interface of Voltapp is divided into 4 main parts:

  1. The toolbar, which contains various actions that the user can perform (such as adding a node or publishing the app). Note that the bar can change depending on the different modes (discussed below)
  2. The project tree, on the left, represents all the nodes that make up the app. The nodes are organized in a tree with the app node as the root. Each node created appears here and can be moved, deleted or selected.
  3. The preview, in the center, shows visually what the application looks like. It is also possible to select or modify certain nodes.
  4. The Node Inspector, on the right, displays and allows you to modify the attributes of the selected node.

Saving

In Voltapp, saving is done automatically by default. If you prefer to back up manually, go to Menu > Preferences and disable "Enable automatic saving":

Every time you make a change, the button will turn blue to let you know that you can save again.

If you have a large project, or if you are working with several people on the same project, we strongly advise you to deactivate the automatic save 😉

Graph mode

You can switch from editor mode to graph mode by using the corresponding buttons from the toolbar.

The graph mode displays the graph corresponding to the selected node. A graph is composed of blocks connected to each other, and allows you to create logic related to this node without having to write lines of code. When you select a block, its configuration is displayed in the inspector on the right which becomes a block inspector.

Preview mode

In preview mode you can test your app as it will work once published.

In order to launch the preview with a different device, click on the device button in the toolbar, and select "iPhone" in the "All" category

When the preview mode is activated, two new buttons are added to the toolbar:
